Celebrate the Opening of Chicheley HallThe Royal Society Announce Launch Date to Celebrate the Opening of Chicheley Hall to the Events Market The Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of science has announced that Chicheley Hall near Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes will open as a venue for meetings and events from the beginning of June. The historic Grade I Georgian house, which was purchased by the Royal Society in March 2009, will serve as the Kavli Royal Society International Centre, an extension to the Royal Society’s base in London, to host a wide range of scientific meetings and events. Chicheley Hall will also open to both the commercial and social markets to host events such as team building, away days, both residential and non residential conferences, meetings and seminars. Over the past year Chicheley Hall has undergone an £11 million redevelopment programme which has helped change it from a Buckinghamshire family home in to an International Centre for Science. The major internal changes have been to the Coach House which has been converted into two lecture theatres for up to 100 delegate’s theatre style. The main house will feature four meeting rooms for up to 25 delegates all featuring plenty of natural daylight and views across the glorious grounds. The lecture halls based within the Coach House will benefit from the privacy of a unique conference facility including a glazed atrium which will provide registration and break out space. There are 47 en-suite bedrooms and bathrooms located in the main hall and north and south wings of the property. The redevelopment of Chicheley Hall has brought a new lease of life to the historic mansion while creating a number of short and long term jobs as well as improving road access to the grand estate. A number of exclusive launch events will be taking place on 16th and 17th June to celebrate the opening of Chicheley Hall to the events market. Bookings are now being taken for events from June, for more information or to book an event please contact the Sales Manager, Conferencing & Catering for the Royal Society Rebecca Harris on 020 7451 2611 or email Rebecca.harris@royalsociety.org. Chicheley Hall is now on twitter, for regular updates on the launch events and any special opening offers follow Chicheley Hall at twitter.com/ChicheleyHall. The opening of Chicheley Hall coincides with celebrations marking the Royal Society’s 350th anniversary. The Society is at the cutting edge of scientific research, funding more than 2500 of the UK’s best scientists every year. Events held at Chicheley Hall will help to support this vital scientific work. Milton Keynes Local News Home Page
